The stability measures embedded here, with API service provided by the PeaceTech Lab, show the country level dynamics over the most recent 180-day window, smoothed using a 5-day rolling average. Hover the cursor over the graphs, you will see the changing scores.
GDELT provides five measures of instability. The first is a synthetic one with both conflict and protest events combined. The second is conflict only. The third is protest only. The fourth is the tone of all articles mentioning the particular country within the given timeframe. The last one, not necessarily a direct instability measure, is the number of articles mentioning the country, normalized with respect to the total number of articles monitored by GDELT.
